TAWA takes its name from Tawantinsuyu, the Quechua term for the Inca kingdom and a concept deeply connected with the four sacred directions: North, South, East, and West. In Andean tradition, these directions are more than points on a compass—they are gateways connecting us with the energies and the four elements: air, fire, water, and earth. Each direction is approached as a source of guidance, strength, wisdom, abundance, love, purpose, vitality, and connection. To become conscious of these sacred directions is to open ourselves more deeply to the living connection between human beings, nature, and the cosmos.
