A mestana, or mesa cloth is used to contain sacred items. These ancient medicine bundles of the Andes are used to connect to Pachamama, and the Apus or mountain spirits.
This piece has a strong connection with nature and all its designs are a reflection of nature.
Each piece has been individually handcrafted from scratch. For this, we collect the wool from our own alpacas, then create the wool fibers, hand-dye them with natural dyes taken from plants and seeds, and finally when we turn them into a beautiful and natural wool yarn, we knit each sacred Mestana from a intricate way. These majestic pieces honor our Andean ancestors.
