Our rain sticks are made in Peru. They are made of hollowed wood, filled with small pebbles or shells and finished at both ends. When rotated or shaken, it makes a sound similar to rain. Our ancestors used them to call upon the rain gods so they could raise storms during droughts.
They have a beautiful, relaxing sound like falling water, great for meditating and calming down. Simply turn it over and allow the pebbles to gradually fall to create the rain effect. They can also be used as a rattle.
Please note that there may be slight variations in your items as all our textiles are hand-crafted by local artisans, using traditional techniques. Colours may vary slightly due to variances in display monitors.
