Communities Support

Weaving is part of Peru’s living culture. Rather than creating new trends in fashion or synthetic materials, we consider it beneficial to have new role models focussed on traditional textiles that become legacy pieces passed from generation to generation.

Through continuing to promote and educate people about our traditions, “Sacred Loom” will support our indigenous communities in continuing to find a market for their handmade garments and sacred textiles.

Our goal is to promote, preserve, and enhance our weaving communities.

For centuries Incan women have transmitted culture through weaving Incan vestments. These sacred textiles depict our ancient lifestyle and embody our Andean cosmology. As our weavers have evolved over the centuries they have integrated elements from other cultures into their textiles. 

In an effort to become truly self-sufficient and sustainable, we have put in place this project to nurture and support our indigenous weaving communities.

Aside from shopping for fashion or a touch of art for your home, through SacredloomPeru you will be able to take part in our webinars with demonstrations and explanations about Andean culture, beliefs, etymology. We are excited and passionate about building bridges to our global family in these new ways.

An important achievement will be to position our textiles in a modern context.  Wearing our traditional handwoven garments links you to the sacred circle of humanity. These timeless pieces connect you to an ancient lineage and offer sustainable, unique ethical décor and fashion.
