Peru takes inspiration for this artwork from the Chakana, it was the most important symbol of the pre-Hispanic Andes and is a timeless representation of the Andean connection between the earthly, spiritual, and celestial worlds.
Traditionally understood as a bridge between different realms of existence, the Chakana embodies balance, connection, and the continuous journey of life. The condor was a sacred bird for the Incas, who believed that it communicated with the upper world; the puma is a symbol of strength, wisdom, and intelligence. The snake represents the infinite.
Please note that there may be slight variations in your items as all our textiles are hand-crafted by local artisans, using traditional techniques. Colours may vary slightly due to variances in display monitors.
